Introduction

This project brings together public bodies, involved in the development of biomass gasification since several years: CEA, CIRAD and ENSTIMAC. These research teams have already coordinated or worked together in several ANR and European projects (Lift-Off, Cine-HT, Precond, Torbigap) dedicated to this topic.

Several thesis held by one of the partners are co-directed or monitored by researchers from another laboratory (CEA-CIRAD, CEA-EMAC, CEA-CEMHTI, EMAC-CIRAD…), which shows the interest of the different partners in a shared scientific collaboration.

CEA Liten - Laboratory for Preparation of Bioresources

LPB is specialized on the characterization and preparation of various biomass and waste resources by means of mechanical and/or thermal pretreatment processes. It includes grinding, sieving, pressurization, powder injection, drying, torrefaction or slow pyrolysis.

CIRAD

Within its "Biomass energy" unit, CIRAD (the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development) offers R&D activities, training and expertise on thermo-chemical conversion of lignocellulosic resources.

CEA Liten - Laboratory for Thermal Conversion of Bioresources

LTCB works on the design, development and implementation of biomass and waste-to-energy technologies and processes of biomass and waste resources, dry or wet, for the production of heat, power, biofuels and green chemicals.
