In LEMiRE, we address questions about the adaptive responses of bacteria to environmental fluctuations and about the functional properties of soil microbial communities and the ways in which the plant impacts bacterial diversity and bacterial activities.  The fate of these plant-bacteria interactions is also investigated upon nanomaterials and metals exposure. We also develop biotechnological research contemplated in the field of bioenergy, particularly on microbial fuel cells.
To achieve these goals, we simultaneously develop holistic approaches (metagenomics, genome analysis, transcriptomics and metabolomics) and targeted functional analysis of candidate genes (transcriptional regulators, small non-coding regulatory RNAs ...)
