Pore formation, allowing the injection of bacterial toxins into the eukaryotic cell

The type III secretion system is a nanomachine used by pathogenic bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa to deliver toxins into host cells. A protein complex forms at its end: the "translocon". Researchers at our institute characterized the interaction of both translocon proteins by the use of liposomes.​​
