An iron-sulfur enzyme for DNA repair

To effectively repair a photo-induced DNA damage (a particular thymine dimer), sporulentes bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis have a specific enzyme called spore photoproduct lyase (SPL). Researchers at the Chemistry and Biology of Metals laboratory and at the DRFMC (LAN, Grenoble) have isolated and characterized this enzyme.
