Researchers from the Cell & Plant Physiology laboratory have shown that the production of force generated by the coordinated assembly of actin filaments was responsible for the shape acquisition, for the cell movement etc. These observations were made in real time with the use of an evanescent wave microscopy and the researchers created a mathematical model reflecting the fact that force generation was based on simple and basic physical laws.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies.
