Researchers from the Chemistry and Biology of Metals laboratory synthesized a ruthenium-based metalloenzyme whose activation of the complex led unexpectedly to the selective and specific production of chlorohydrins. In addition, this artificial metalloenzyme accepts a wide range of substrates having a double bond more or less activated and a variable steric hindrance.
