Research thematics
1- Biology of germ cells

We are researching for the actors involved in the control of the initiation of meiosis, a major event that occurs in the fetal ovary and not in the fœtal testis. We are also studying the mitotic/meiotic transition, a key event in sexual organisms. We are pursuing the study of MEIOB, a gene the mutation of which induces total sterility in both male and female in the mouse. Lastly, in collaboration with Béclère Hospital, we are studying the germ cells development in human in perspective to a better understanding of associated pathologies.
2- Effects of Endocrine Disruptors

Our group is studying the effects of two types of Endocrine Disruptors (phthalates and bisphenol A) on the development of human fœtal gonads (testis and ovary). We demonstrated that these compounds impair gametogenesis and/or steroidogenesis and we are presently researching their mechanisms of action.
