Created in 2009, the Thesis Prize of the Nanosciences Foundation, awarded each year for 10 years, the best theses in the field of nanosciences, prepared in one of the 33 laboratories of its network. The laureates are selected by a jury of 10 members from different scientific and institutional backgrounds, working on the steering committee of the Nanosciences Foundation. This prize is awarded to one or more young doctors on the sole criterion of scientific excellence.

Caroline Botum Lim's thesis, entitled "GaN/AlGaN heterostructures for infrared optoelectronics: Polar vs nonpolar orientations", deals with the study of GaN-based semiconductor nanostructures, such as 2D multi-wells and those inserted into nanowires.
