Isorg - Large area image sensors on plastic and glass

Launched in 2010, Isorg transforms plastic and glass into interactive smart surfaces capable of seeing people, objects, and movements, thanks to electro-optical sensors made using printed organic electronics technologies.

Technology

Isorg’s electro-optical sensors are made of innovative materials from the world of organic chemistry. While in liquid phase, the materials are deposited onto glass or plastic using high-speed printing techniques. The result: large area image sensors (up to 32 cm x 38 cm, and, soon, 66 cm x 78 cm with the advent of Gen 3.5 products) that are competitively priced compared to silicon-based components offering similar optical performance.

The technology holds around 50 patents, jointly owned by Isorg and the CEA. The startup’s first customers are from the medical X-ray imaging and logistics industries. In time, Isorg expects to develop products for other markets like biometric systems, sensors for Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, human machine interface (HMI) technologies, diagnostics, and more. Isorg is based in Grenoble and has sales representatives in Asia. Starting in 2017, the startup will boast a new manufacturing site in Limoges, France.
