​​​​Microalgae efficiently convert solar energy into biomass thanks to photosynthesis, using water and carbon dioxide as the main resources. These micro-organisms synthesize molecules of interest that can be used for the production of biofuels (hydrogen, biodiesel, biokerosene…) or biobricks for green chemistry.

Research activities developed in our laboratory aim at understanding the biological mechanisms of solar energy conversion and storage into energy-rich compounds (lipids, starch, hydrogen…) and identifying bottlenecks towards biotechnological applications.
