| The research of Mairbek Chshiev has been focused on the theory of spin-dependent electronic transport phenomena in nanostructures with giant and tunnel magnetoresistance as well as on electronic band structure of materials for spin electronics (spintronics). He received his Ph.D. degree from Moscow State University (Russia) in 1997 and his Habilitation Degree from University Joseph Fourier (France) in 2008. After several postdoctoral stays in France and USA between 1998 and 2004, he joined the Center for Materials for Information Technology at the University of Alabama where he stayed as a Research Scientist until his arrival to Grenoble (France) in 2008 where he joined Spintec Laboratory holding one of the Chairs of Excellence supported by the Foundation "Nanosciences at the frontier of nanoelectronics". His theory group carries out research using advanced theoretical approaches in order to understand fundamental electronic band structure and transport mechanisms required for the developments of future spintronic devices. He has been an Invited Professor at University Henri Poincare in Nancy (France) and Adjunct Associate Professor of Physics at University of Alabama (USA). Dr. M. Chshiev serves as a referee for APS, ACS, IEEE and Elsevier journals (Phys.Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, Journ. of Magn. Magn. Mat., Nano Letters, IEEE Trans. Mag.), jury member for the PhD and HdR defenses, and has been an Editor for IEEE Trans. Mag. (Intermag Proceedings). His works are published in leading scientific journals and he delivered more than 50 invited and contributed talks worldwide (see detailed CV). |
