Solène Besson - Silab Corporate Foundation Award


Solène Besson is the 2020 winner of the "Silab-Jean Peaufique" corporate foundation prize. The objective of this Foundation is to provide active and constant support to fundamental and applied research in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of dermatological pathologies, and more particularly, skin cancers. Solène Besson, thesis at the IBS, will be financially supported for three years to carry out her experiments in the field of immunotherapy for melanoma.

Solène Besson's research project is entitled "Development of immunotherapy vectors for the treatment of melanoma". The work is carried out at the Institute of Structural Biology in collaboration with the French Blood Establishment and the Institute for Advanced Biosciences in Grenoble within the "Adenovirus" and "Immunobiology and Immunotherapies in Chronic Diseases" teams under the principal direction of Dr. Pascal FENDER. Research is organized around the development and pre-clinical evaluation of new immunotherapy vectors that should stimulate the patient's immune system to effectively fight melanoma.

The objective of the "Silab-Jean Peaufique" Corporate Foundation is to provide active and constant support for fundamental and applied research into the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of dermatological pathologies, and more specifically, skin cancer.
