Thanks to electroencephalography (EEG), NeuroSpin researchers can record the electrical activity of the brain. Sensors placed on the head record the neuronal electrical activity and how it changes according to a particular stimulus that may be light, an image or a sound.EEG allows brain activity to be measured with great precision over time, milliseconds per millisecond. However, spatial information is difficult to analyze with EEG, so the technique is often used in conjunction with other brain imaging techniques such as MRI.
