				<title>A promising therapeutic innovation for creatine transporter deficiency.</title>

				<description>​Two teams from JOLIOT (SPI / SCBM), in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati, confirm the interest of a drug candidate to treat the congenital creatine deficiency syndrome, a rare neurological childhood disease, responsible for developmental delays and intellectual disability. The results obtained in an animal model of the disease show that it is possible to administer, nasally, dodecyl creatine ester-loaded microspheres, thus improving the cognitive functions of treated animals.</description>

				<title>MRI and AI to develop a virtual brain biopsy tool</title>

				<description>​Imaging the brain of a patient at the microscopic scale is as of yet not possible but might turn into a reality thanks to a new tool for creating virtual biopsies. This algorithm has been developed by a team of NeuroSpin (CEA-Joliot) in collaboration with the Institute of NeuroScience and Medicine of Juelich as part of the European Human Brain Project. A first study demontrsating the potentiel of the algorithm ot simulate white matter samples has been published in NeuroImage.</description>

				<title>Pain: a promising toxin isolated from a spider venom</title>

				<description>A collaboration between SIMOPRO, Sanofi R &amp; D, Smartox Laboratories and the Thorax Institute, has isolated a toxin with antinociceptive properties from a high-throughput electrophysiological screening of a collection of more than 100 venoms. Cyriotoxin-1a has been identified, sequenced, chemically synthesized and functionally characterized - from cell to organism in vivo.</description>

				<title>The identification of biomarkers by metabolomics should allow a better follow-up of cirrhotic patients</title>

				<description>Researchers from SPI, in collaboration with teams from an European foundation, EF Clif, carried out global and targeted metabolomic analyzes which made possible to highlight, in cirrhotic patients, an activation of the kynurenine metabolic pathway (tryptophan degradation pathway). The imbalance of this pathway is probably the cause of the symptoms observed during cirrhotic decompensation, when the body can no longer compensate for liver dysfunctions.</description>

				<title>Cerebral lymphoma: a new indication for [18F]Fludarabine?</title>

				<description>A SHFJ research team (LDM-TEP, GIP Cyceron, Caen) has previously developed and produced a radiopharmaceutical, the [18F]-Fludarabine, to detect lymphomas using PET scan. The team has recently conducted a preclinical study that shows the molecule can help in diagnosis of cerebral lymphoma by differentiate it from glioblastoma, the main brain tumor. A clinical study should be launched before the end of the year.</description>

				<title>A new mutated protein interface in premature aging syndromes</title>

				<description>​A SB2SM Research Team (I2BC@Saclay) solved by crystallography the structure of a ternary protein complex at the interface between the nuclear envelope (emerin and lamin A / C) and the genome (BAF). In collaboration with Teams from Paris-Sud and Paris-Diderot Universities, the structure analysis, as well as in vitro interaction and proximity experiments in cellulo, suggests that a lack of interaction between the lamina A / C (nucleoskeleton) and chromatin-associated protein (BAF) may be one of the mechanisms responsible for premature aging syndromes.

This strategy, based on the use of an ad hoc database to measure the proportion of antigens and contaminants in the vaccine preparation, will improve the quality control of vaccines against contagious caprine pleuropneumonia.
