Using a limited amount of information, his toolbox can simulate more than 10,000 storms! Pascal Yiou is a climatologist and a mathematician. Within his ERC scholarship, he studies the properties of chaos in climate models and, in particular, in extreme events, rare or even not yet existing. One application is the development of simplified tools of simulation for the community of climatologists and other scientists.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
