Within the framework of the LASERLAB-EUROPE project, CEA is working towards sharing and opening up laser and photonics infrastructure to European scientists. Today, Laserlab is an important tool for the development of laser metrology and laser-based instrumentation for a wide range of applications and societal needs in the fields of health, security, environment, etc. As one of the founding members of this community, CEA offers access to ultra-high intensity lasers with pulse duration in the femtosecond (10-15s) and attosecond (10-18s) ranges at the best level in Europe.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
