One of the research areas of the DSV concerns the Environmental Nuclear Toxicology. The objective of this program is to identify the toxic effects of elements used in nuclear research and industry, whether chemical toxic or radiotoxic. This in order, firstly, to identify toxicity thresholds for man and his environment and, secondly, to suggest preventive solutions, effective monitoring devices and remedies to clean up the soil and treating any contamination of people.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
