The Environmental Nuclear Toxicology Program

​​​One of the research areas of the DSV concerns the Environmental Nuclear Toxicology. The objective of this program is to identify the toxic effects of elements used in nuclear research and industry, whether chemical toxic or radiotoxic. This in order, firstly, to identify toxicity thresholds for man and his environment and, secondly, to suggest preventive solutions, effective monitoring devices and remedies to clean up the soil and treating any contamination of people.

The latest issue of the journal Biochemistry includes several work carried out in several laboratories of our institute. These results are the fruit of collaborations conducted with teams from CEA/Liten, ESRF, CNAB, DSV/DEVM, INRA, CNRS/UCB / Insa and DSV/DRM.
