Simcryogenics is a library of components allowing the simulation of large cryogenic installations from the compression station to the cryodistribution through the helium refrigerator. This tool was used to control the level and pressure of the Cryo modules of the LINAC SPIRAL2 at Ganil in order to obtain the most stable electric field possible. This numerical model of the cryogenic system, developed specifically over the last ten years by IRIG researchers, ensures the stabilization of the helium pressure. This model also provides a better understanding of the physical phenomena and allows better control and detection of any anomalies.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
