The CEA is a member of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, or ESFR. Its mission is to study, build, operate, and develop a source of synchrotron radiation along with its ancillary devices. The ESFR community also encourages the use of the facility, as well as the establishment and implementation of scientific research programmes based on synchrotron radiation.
