| Résumé | It is likely that satellite systems will play a role in the coming fifth generation of mobile communications (5G). When 5G will be deployed, satellites and terrestrial systems should be able to share the spectrum. In this aim, multicarrier waveforms are good candidates for satellite physical layer. In this paper we assess the performance of several multicarrier waveforms, including some very little studied in the literature, in this context. First, the spectrum localization of the waveforms is measured by simulation. The peak to average ratio (PAPR), a key criterion for satellite transmitter, is then plotted. Bit Error Rate (BER) curves in the presence of a terrestrial interferer are provided and combined with PAPR to propose a fair comparison between the waveforms. Finally, taking into account complexity considerations, implementation recommendations are given. It is shown that the choice of the waveform is highly dependent on the target BER before decoding. © 2017 IEEE. |
