Jean-Pierre SIMONATO

Dr. hab. , CEA Fellow

After obtaining his PhD in 1999, he spent 7 years in industry before joining CEA in 2005. He was appointed head of the nanomaterials synthesis and integration Laboratory (2014-2018), and spent a year as Visiting Scientist at Duke University (USA) in 2020.

He is currently working as the scientific directorate of CEA-Liten, while maintaining a research activity on various topics such as nanomaterials synthesis, gas sensors and 3D printing.

He has been Expert evaluator/Vice-chair at the European Commission for last ten years. He has co-authored over 100 patents and 100 publications.

In 2023, he was appointed Senior Fellow.

Research Activities

His research activities focus on the use of nanomaterials and organic compounds (molecules, polymers), and aim to modify their properties at the nanoscopic scale to develop materials with optimized macroscopic properties.

Current applications range from sensors to polymer nanocomposites for 3D printing.
