Stéphane CROS
Dr. Hab.
Senior Expert
After completing a PhD on the physical chemistry of organic-inorganic hybrid materials at ESPCI in Paris, Stéphane Cros' early career began with a short-term contract in the plastics engineering laboratory at CNAM in Paris, followed by postdoctoral research at the organic solar cell laboratory at the CEA in Saclay. His research on the encapsulation of flexible devices involved developing a purpose-built measurement instrument and using ion beam analysis. This led to a permanent position at CEA-INES, where he broadened his research into materials such as thin gas barrier layers and adhesives. Today, his research also includes silicon-perovskite tandem cell passivation to improve device stability. And, since 2011, he has had significant involvement in European project development and management. Finally, since obtaining his accreditation to supervise research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or
HDR) in 2016, he has supervised eight PhDs.
Research Activities Perovskite solar cells, silicon-perovskite tandem, stability, encapsulation, gas barrier property measurements, defect passivation.
