Dr. Hab.
After earning an engineering degree from École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Limoges (ENSIL) in 1999 and a PhD from INPG Grenoble in 2003, Cédric Ducros joined the CEA in Grenoble in 2003.
As a project manager at the CEA from 2003 to 2018, he conducted research on thin-film vacuum deposition processes for mechanical and, later, optical applications.
He joined the Printed Electronics Department in 2018, where he continued developing processes for flexible sensors and plastronic modules.
He was granted accreditation to supervise research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or HDR) in 2023 and earned the titles of CEA Senior Expert and Research Director in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
- Vacuum deposition processes (PVD-CVD) for mechanical and optical applications;
- Deposition and shaping processes for printed electronics devices.
After two years of collaboration, the European CACTUS project is coming to a close, leaving behind a major scientific and methodological legacy for the solar photovoltaic sector: diagnostic tools, reference datasets, and innovative approaches for evaluating the performance and resilience of photovoltaic systems. The work has also resulted in strategic recommendations for policymakers, compiled in a Policy Brief, to support the sustainable and reliable deployment of photovoltaics on a global scale.
As part of its mission to develop more sustainable industrial solutions, CEA-Liten is leading research to reduce the environmental impact of polymers, with a team of around twenty researchers focusing on two key areas: recycling existing materials and designing polymers with a lower ecological footprint. This article presents its research findings on polyurethanes, otherwise known as PUs.
