Sébastien ROLERE

Dr. Hab.

Expert

A research engineer at CEA-Liten specializing in the chemistry and physical chemistry of polymer materials and an Expert in the CEA's Energy Department, Sébastien Rolere was granted his accreditation to supervise research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or HDR) in January of 2025. His PhD research at CIRAD (2012-2015) focused on the relationships between the structures and properties of non-vulcanized natural rubber gums.

After his PhD, he completed two postdoctoral contracts, one on thermoset resins with low surface energies at the University of Le Mans in 2016, and another on a peroxide-free, radical-based melt-process functionalization method for biobased thermoplastics at ICGM in 2017. He joined CEA-Liten in 2018 to develop new polymers and innovative recycling solutions.

He also sits on the steering committee of PLASTnet, which was set up to coordinate the CEA's polymer activities at the national level, and is a member of the Polymeris cluster's scientific committee.
