Philippe VOARINO
Dr. Hab.
Senior Expert
Philippe Voarino is a research engineer and Research Director in the field of solar technologies at the CEA's INES research center. After earning a degree in engineering physics from
École Centrale Marseille, he obtained a PhD in optics, image, and signal processing at the Fresnel Institute of Aix-Marseille University in 2004. He then held research positions in optical thin films, laser damage, and spectrophotometry, and a position as R&D manager in an optical disk replication plant before joining the CEA in 2010. As a Senior Expert in optical characterization, his work spans scientific research and research and development on photovoltaic modules. He has also been involved in the development of solar generators for space activities for more than eight years.

Research Activities His research focuses on optics and the electro-optical characterization of components and, especially, photovoltaic components.
He brings significant experience in the design of innovative planar photovoltaic modules to the development and performance evaluation of micro concentrators for space applications.
Currently, he is developing solutions for photovoltaic modules that can withstand use in space, in conjunction with academic and industrial stakeholders.
