Making nanoproducts safer

Nanoparticles release testing on everyday products (paint, tile, mortar, paper, plastic).

The Nanosafety Platform can apply two types of stress to test materials' behavior during use.

Our climatic chambers are used to simulate accelerated aging due to exposure to UV rays or sunlight; these tests can be combined with a spray test that simulates exposure to rain.

We also have a variety of tools to simulate both wet and dry abrasion; these tests simulate the effects of friction due to people passing by or cleaning the product, for example.

These mechanical stress tests are generally completed before and after aging in the climatic chamber to gain the best possible understanding of the impact of aging on nanoparticle release.
