Highlight | Hydrogen | Photovoltaic solar power
The development of photoelectrochemical cells is a way to produce decarbonized hydrogen using an artificial photosynthesis approach, but it is necessary to simplify their fabrication, optimize their performance and ensure that their production can be deployed on a large scale. Researchers at IRIG describe the simplified construction and optimization
via its instrumentation of an "artificial leaf" containing only abundant elements and with 2 % solar energy to hydrogen conversion efficiency.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
