Based on the CEA site in Grenoble (France), the GENEPI platform offers R&D pilots dedicated to the pretreatment (drying, torrefaction, grinding) and gasification (entrained flow reactor) of biomass and waste resources. Halfway between the lab and demonstration scales, GENEPI is unique R&D platform in Europe.
Energy recovery, waste and emissions control
The GENEPI platform consumes and produces different gas streams (air, O2, Natural Gas, torrefaction gas, synthesis gas and flue gas). Heat integration is made by coupling the post-combustion unit with a heat exchanger. Thus, thermal energy efficiency is optimised over the whole process chain.
