Dr. Hab.
Nadia Caney, an expert in thermal studies, has been a Research Director and laboratory head at CEA-Liten since 2024.
After earning her PhD from Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble and the CEA in 2000, she served on the faculty of Grenoble Alpes University from 2003 to 2019, teaching and conducting research, before moving on to a position as research engineer at the CEA, which she held from 2019 to 2023.
She has supervised or co-supervised a dozen PhD dissertations and has sat on some fifteen PhD and HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or accreditation to supervise research) juries.
From 2011 to 2019 she was a member of the CNU (National University Council). During that period (2010 to 2019) she also headed the Master in Thermal Engineering program at Grenoble Alpes University, where she also taught. She pursued her academic career at Grenoble engineering school ENSE3 from 2019 to 2024 and maintains close ties with France's academic and industrial thermal engineering communities. Today, she continues to teach engineering through GRETh, a Grenoble-based research consortium on heat exchangers.

- Boiling in confined environments;
- Heat transfer intensification;
- Organic Rankine cycle systems.
Over time, this innovation could completely eliminate the need for transformers operating at 50 Hz, as photovoltaic sources and other renewable energies could be connected directly to the distribution network via this innovative power electronics.
