Thibaut GUTEL

Dr. Hab.

Senior Expert

After earning a degree in chemical engineering from ESCOM and, later, a PhD in chemistry, Thibaut Gutel joined the CEA in 2010. He had already earned his accreditation to supervise research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or HDR) at that time. Since joining the CEA, he has managed a dozen national and European projects involving multiple academic research partners. He has also managed energy-storage projects—with a focus on lithium batteries—with industrial partners.

He continues to play an active role with PhD students, and has played a role in around ten dissertations, either as supervisor or as mentor. Finally, he coordinates research activities around organic electrode materials for lithium and redox flow batteries.
