Nicolas TAUVERON
Dr. Hab.
Fellow
He joined CEA in 1999 and spent 20 years working on the thermodynamic cycles of innovative nuclear reactors. For the past decade, he has been working on energy efficiency for industry and heat conversion processes in general. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Mines Paris-PSL and obtained his doctorate from Ecole Centrale de Lyon. He received his habilitation in 2013 on the multi-scale unsteady modelling of turbomachinery. He has co-authored more than 100 international publications and holds 30 patents.
Research Activities
His research activities focus on applied thermodynamics: Rankine cycle with organic fluid or steam, transcritical cycle, open and closed Brayton cycles for electricity production, heat pumps and refrigeration. The systems currently studied can integrate different processes and couplings: electricity-hydrogen cogeneration from a nuclear reactor, Carnot batteries for massive electricity storage, trithermal machines, etc.
