L’équipe de Neuroimagerie du développement travaille sur le développement cognitif du bébé, et de l’enfant d’âge scolaire. Le but de l’équipe est de comprendre quelles sont les capacités initiales de l’être humain et comment elles se développent grâce à la maturation du cerveau et aux stimulations de l’environnement.
Scientific result
A collaboration involving the Irfu has discovered two hot gas “chimney” around the supermassive black hole of our Galaxy. They seemed linked to the large Fermi Bubbles, which implies a probable high activity from the black hole and the Milky Way central regions in the past.
Researchers from CEA-Iramis have designed a new experimental method using microwave photons that brings additional proof that the electrical charge of carriers may amount to a third or a fifth of the elementary charge of the electron. Moreover, the experiment shows that these fractionally charged carriers (called “anyons”) interact with microwave photons and can therefore be manipulated. This discovery is the first step towards the study of anyons’ quantum and statistical properties.
