En 2010 et 2011, deux appels d’offre « Infrastructures Nationales en Biologie et Santé » ont été lancés dans le cadre du programme Biologie et Santé des Investissements d’Avenir (IA), soulignant l’importance des infrastructures technologiques de recherche pour maintenir une recherche d’excellence dans le domaine des sciences du vivant.

European ＆ international partnerships
L'Institut Joliot entretient plus de 200 collaborations avec les institutions d'au moins quinze pays à travers le monde.
National Infrastructures in Biology and Health (INBS), funded by the Programme of Investments for the Future (PIA), support research projects in the French community by providing research services and French research. Research Teams of the Frédéric Joliot Institute for Life Sciences contribute to this dynamic: their capabilities to develop and manage technological platforms and large instruments have earned them the integration of their platforms into 4 INBS. Note that two of them (FLI and NeurATRIS) are coordinated by the CEA.
The Frédéric Joliot Institute for Life Sciences permanently receives and prepares approximately 120 doctoral students.
