A team from I2BC shows, by using super-resolution fluorescence microscopy and transmission electron microscopy approaches, that both excess and deficiency of Mn affect the organization of thylakoid membranes and photosynthetic electron transport in the plant Marchantia polymorpha

Using samples collected during the Tara Oceans expeditions and sequencing "big data" generated by Genoscope, an international research team has discovered an important group of DNA viruses living among ocean surface plankton. Published in Nature, this discovery brings novel opportunities for the field of ecology and the elucidation of DNA virus evolution pathways, in the seas and beyond.

In the near future, millions of sensor nodes (IoT) will collect and share data to address the sustainable environmental and power reduction challenges. These nodes must be extremely power efficient to avoid using batteries while minimizing the communication data. Thus, collecting and processing the data locally with an Artificial Intelligence is the key to address these requirements.
In collaboration with CEA-List for embedded imaging processing, CEA-Leti has developped RETINE. Thanks to 3D IC stacking technology, it combines an image sensor and a parallel array of processors to form a single vision circuit. RETINE can hence acquire upto 5500fps while featuring flexible scene analysis capabilities; It results in downto millseconds latency between acquisition and computation outputs and the resulting data stream can be reduced to the minimal relevant amount.
