Speeding innovation for industry
Article | Energy efficiency
Amid rising energy costs, dwindling fossil fuel supplies, and negative impacts of CO2 emissions on the environment, today’s energy landscape is complex. As major consumers of energy, buildings are on the front lines when it comes to finding sustainable solutions.
CEA Tech is innovating in a variety of fields to help make buildings more energy efficient. With access to fully-instrumented experimental houses, homebuilders and building materials, systems, and equipment manufacturers can test new solutions and assess their impact on energy performance and occupant comfort. CEA Tech is equipped to test new construction methods, opaque and glass wall panels, materials, stuccoes, new types of doors and windows, innovative ventilation systems, solar collectors, and thermal storage systems.
After a successful fundraising round in late 2018, Morphosense has reached a new milestone, earning ATEX Z1 and Z21 certifications for its NEURON system. ATEX certifies conformity with EU regulations for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres containing gases and dusts.
By inaugurating the first industrial production line for heterojunction PV cells at its Catania plant, ENEL Green Power has just given a strong signal for the future of this technology.
Industrial-sized batches of silicon heterojunction solar cells with yields of 24% were recently manufactured at high throughput. Some cells set a yield record of 24.25%. The test runs mark a new step forward toward readying this promising technology for manufacturing.
The NeoLED LED lighting system can be plugged directly into existing home electrical outlets with no need for an adapter. The patented system is compact and cost-effective to manufacture. It was showcased at the Vivatech trade show in May.
How to collaborate with CEA Tech teams ?
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
