Renewable energy and Energy efficiency
Tomorrow’s smart grids will integrate renewable energy, reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and deliver a reliable supply of electricity to consumers.
CEA Tech is contributing to smart-grid development through research conducted by CEA Tech institute Liten, which is investigating architectures, dimensioning, control, and optimization of complex energy systems combining multiple energy sources, energy storage, and users.
Liten is also developing energy trading business models, plus software and management tools to ensure the cleanest, most economical source of energy available is used at all times. The goal is of course to increase the amount of renewable energy integrated into the grid.
ALL TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS
Liten, a CEA Tech institute, presented its digital tools for dimensioning and managing energy storage solutions at the ANCRE press conference on February 7, 2018. Liten’s solutions facilitate the integration of renewable energy into island grids.
Benjamin Guinot founded SEED-Energy in early August of 2017 to transform the Odyssey simulator’s potential to improve energy system dimensioning and energy management into a marketable service.
A power-component test bench with photovoltaic-type aging capabilities was developed under the Memphis project.
Liten, a CEA Tech institute, recently joined forces with France’s energy agency ADEME to assess the benefits combining electricity storage and renewable energy production could bring to micro-grids connected to the main grid on the island of Corsica.
Liten, a CEA Tech institute, has developed a tool to predict concentrating solar power (CSP) plant production based on forecasts of direct solar irradiance.
How to collaborate with CEA Tech teams ?
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
