Biography of Ludovic Poupinet

In 2020 he was named CEA-Leti’s Deputy Director. In that position, he oversees the operations of five divisions covering a broad range of key technologies and systems.
  • Ludovic Poupinet joined CEA-Leti in 1997 as a researcher-engineer in the field of optical thin-film characterization and simulation. He transferred to the institute's optical-data storage lab in 1999 and over the next 20 years he filled a variety of roles, such as project leader, lab manager, section manager, and business developer, in CEA-Leti's close collaborations with industrial partners. 

  • Those R&D projects ranged from photonics and nano-photonics to solid-state memory. In 2015, Ludovic was promoted to head of the Optics and Photonics Division, and in 2020 he was named CEA-Leti's Deputy Director. 

  • In that position, he oversees the operations of five divisions covering a broad range of key technologies and systems. These include solid-state memory, MEMS, power electronics, quantum technologies, photonics, image sensors, communication devices and systems, biology and healthcare, and cybersecurity.

  • Ludovic obtained an engineering diploma in optics and phototonics from IOGS, Palaiseau in 1992 and a PhD in Optics and Photonics from Paris-Sud University Orsay in 1997.
