CEA-Leti is developing a new generation of photonic components: micro LED (µLED) arrays. This breakthrough technology brings advances in multiple applications including smart lighting, augmented reality in integrated smart glasses and large/transparent, flexible 3D displays.

A curved sensor that limits the number of lenses required in optical equipment was recently developed. The new sensor reduces the volume of camera modules by half, creating opportunities for the manufacturers of cameras, smartphones, and other optical systems.
Extending its expertise in high-brightness microdisplay technology for augmented-reality and other applications, Leti will demonstrate the world’s first wide video graphic array (WVGA) GaN microdisplay with 10-micron pixel pitch during Display Week in Los Angeles, May 21-26.
