DNA repair and recombination:
a delicate balance between genomic fidelity and diversity
Maintaining the fidelity of genetic information is a critical function for all organisms. In higher eukaryotes, the accumulation of mutations can increase pathologies such as cancer or neurodegenerative diseases. On the other hand, evolution involves genetic changes.

In our laboratory, we are interested in understanding the fundamental basis of these two aspects by studying the mechanisms involved in the remarkable genetic diversity of the human pathogenic bacterium Helicobacter pylori.
