The Mouse Breeding Platform (ZooM) is an animal facility housing mice kept in open cages, ventilated racks and isolators, which provides support for the breeding of transgenic mice. The Preclinical Model Testing Platform (EMP) offers research teams technical support for carrying out projects involving the use of animals for scientific purposes.​

​Offers and services​

Our main objectives are to provide the scientific community in both the public and private sectors with mouse housing and breeding facilities, technical and veterinary support, and equipment for the functional investigation of small animals and the implementation of specialised experimental protocols, particularly in radiology, but also in oncology and reproductive pathology.​


Equipments and resources

​The ZooM platform includes a 400 m² rodent animal facility with seven housing rooms, one of which is for immunocompromised animals.

It has a maximum capacity of:

  • 2,340 open cages (65 stainless steel racks / 36 cages)
  • 666 cages in ventilated racks
  • 40 cages in isolators
It manages the breeding of over 50 strains of genetically modified mice and immunodeficient mice.

The EMP platform includes a surgical suite where, amongst other things, stereotaxy and imaging (IVIS Lumina) procedures are carried out. It also has a behavioural study room (for assessing exploratory activity, memory tests and motor activity).

​The ZooM platform comprises 1.5 technical FTE and 3 FTE in animal husbandry services.
