The Hemato-Immunology Research Department (SRHI) of the CEA-Jacob Institute has been awarded with INSERM label status. This recognition confirms the scientific momentum and research excellence of the SRHI. As of January 1, the Department has joined INSERM unit UMR1342, headed by Professor Jean Soulier (Professor of Hematology and Hospital Practitioner) at Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris.

UMR1342 brings together around 500 staff members, including faculty researchers, scientists, engineers, technicians, administrative personnel, and students. Based at Saint-Louis Hospital, the unit conducts fundamental research with strong clinical applications in hematology, oncology, and transplantation. It is structured into four research areas: immunology, infectious diseases and biotherapies (which includes the SRHI), hematology-oncology, dermatology-oncology, and data science and cohorts. Within UMR1342, the SRHI team is designated as “HLA Immune Tolerance in Oncology and Transplantation.”
