Inside the brain: CEA-Jacob researchers share their discoveries

As part of Brain Awareness Week, researchers from the CEA-Jacob Institute invite the public to discover their laboratories and their research through a series of videos. Their work focuses on Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s diseases, as well as multiple system atrophy. They explain how they explore the brain and its functions at the cellular level, develop early diagnostic tools, and design innovative therapies to fight neurodegenerative diseases.

Brain Awareness Week offers the public an opportunity each year to gain a better understanding of the brain—this remarkable organ—as well as its dysfunctions and the diseases that impair its activity.

For the 2025 edition, researchers from the CEA’s Institut de Biologie François Jacob in Fontenay-aux-Roses present their work in a series of videos. They share how they study the brain’s energy consumption, identify biological markers characteristic of neurological disorders, develop early diagnostics for improved patient care, and design innovative therapies. Their ultimate goal: to find solutions against Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and many other neurodegenerative diseases.
