The “FlowCyTech” (LFC) technological laboratory of IDMIT department focuses its activities on studying the immune response at the single-cell level, using flow and mass cytometry technologies. These technologies enable a better understanding of the complexity of the immune response by revealing the existence of new cell populations and helping to discover new biomarkers.

The laboratory’s main missions are:

  • Design and development of cytometry panels

  • Conduct of in vitro studies involving cytometry within the Department’s research projects

  • Development of new data analysis pipelines

  • Training users of the equipment in data acquisition and analysis

  • Bibliographic and technological monitoring in cytometry

The FlowCyTech laboratory is a partner of the national network of the French Cytometry Association (AFC) and the CypSay cytometry network of Paris-Saclay University.

To carry out its missions, the laboratory is equipped with various cytometry instruments:

  • two ZE5-type analyzer cytometers (Bio-Rad) capable of acquiring up to 25 parameters at the single-cell level

  • an Aria Fusion cell sorter (Becton Dickinson) operated under Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) containment

  • A Helios mass cytometer (Standard BioTools) capable of acquiring up to 100 parameters at the single-cell level

  • Various analysis software programs (FlowJo, OMIQ, and Cytobank)
