Short abstract:

Ultra-high field imaging at 7 Tesla and beyond provides us with a novel window of insight into the functional and structural architecture of the living human brain. Here, I focus on using 7 Tesla MRI to understand better the functional and structural architecture of the human sensorimotor system with respect to (i) topographic maps, (ii) tissue inhomogeneities, and (iii) offline representations, and discuss their relevance for mental and physiological health.
